Sydney and Jemmy have not seen each other for nearly eleven years. However, when Sydney accompanies her boss on his cross-country book tour, she and Jemmy are reunited when they stop in his hometown, leading to an awkward reunion, especially when Jemmy learns they share a son, Mattie. This leads to he and Sydney to focus on examining how to best co-parent Mattie while rebuilding their relationship and trust, as Jemmy is also seeking to rebuild his relationship with his parents, having been gone for several years from home.
